After we remodel the homeowner’s basement, she called upon us to remodel her kitchen. The homeowner wanted ideas on design and functionality and that is what we gave her. She previously had a large light in her kitchen and we opted for a trace ceiling with a smaller light fixture and put crown molding around it to give it a finished look. The homeowner loved this idea and was thrilled with the finished project. The homeowner also wanted to put a desk in her kitchen, as a place where she could work, but wanted it to match the kitchen, so that is exactly what we gave her. She now has a place where she can work and it goes wonderfully with her kitchen design. The homeowner loves her new kitchen and has now called upon us to remodel her living room and dining room.

The 2008 CotY Award Winning Kitchen $15,000 to $30,000. These homeowners saved their pennies for years for a well-designed kitchen. They wanted to modernize their outdated kitchen. Their home was built in the 1970s and the kitchen was original to the home. It was a builder’s grade kitchen and these homeowners knew exactly what they wanted and needed for their kitchen to be brought into the 21st century. They wanted quality, functionality, and they did not want to spend more than $30,000 doing it. One of the obstacles we faced in meeting the homeowners needs was that they wanted cherry cabinets and Quartz countertops, being that we had a specific budget, we had do a little digging to find these specific items for them. To our delight we were able to find a quality cherry cabinet in the Dura Supreme line that one of our suppliers carried. Another challenge we encountered was the homeowner wanted a specific kind of backsplash. They did not want the typical ceramic tile; they wanted their tile to have a stone look. This proved to be an adventure with locating this specific tile and with keeping in the budget. Finally, the homeowners wanted a ceramic look for their flooring; however, they did not want ceramic tile flooring, because they felt it would be cold and that it could chip. Therefore, we set out to find a floor that looked like ceramic tile floor, only in vinyl flooring. Once the project was completed we were able to come in under budget with still giving the homeowner everything they desired. They were elated with the transformation, as were we.

These homeowners are recently retired and wanted for many years to remodel their out-dated kitchen. To our delight they called upon us for the job. The original design had a lower ceiling with lights; however, it did not allow for enough light. The homeowners decided to have this ceiling raised to match the rest of the ceiling in the kitchen and choose hockey puck lights, and can lights to allow for an even distribution of light around the kitchen. They also had a row of cabinets that divided the cooking area from the eating area. They wanted to get rid of this to open up the kitchen and we were happy to do just that. The homeowner in all received new cabinets, a new Granite countertop, undermount stainless steel double bowl sink, lighting, an open space, new wood flooring, and a tiled backsplash around half of the kitchen. They were overjoyed when the process was completed, and love their new kitchen.

What can we say the before and after pictures speak for themselves. This bathroom was very outdated and the homeowner called upon us to make the necessary updates to make this bathroom livable. We completely gutted this bathroom down to the wall studs. The homeowner in all received new ½” drywall, bathtub/shower, vanity, mirror, lighting, toilet, flooring, boutique cabinet, and all new fixtures. The homeowner was so happy when we completed their bathroom that they called us back to replace their siding and windows.

With both a center island and breakfast bar, the design by W.E. Bilbrey makes the most of the floor plan. This higher-end kitchen is finished off with accent lighting and crown and rope molding. These homeowners were looking to do what most of our clients are looking to do; modernize their outdated kitchen. They chose to keep their existing pine cabinets and opted to paint them white, a cedar hutch, new ceramic tile flooring, and all new appliances. This is another good example of how a homeowner can provide a hand in the transformation of their kitchen, and wow what a transformation it is!

The dark cabinets in the before kitchen just did not give this kitchen justice. When we were called in to remodel this kitchen the homeowner chose lighter cabinets to add to the ambiance of the kitchen. The homeowner also needed more storage space, so we added a utility cabinet next to the refrigerator and took out the book shelf and added another set of cabinets by the island. This provided the homeowner with the space they needed. When the kitchen was finished the homeowner was delighted with additional space and the overall look.

Cherry cabinets and stainless steel appliances gave this kitchen the facelift it needed. The homeowner opted for stacked cabinets, so they could showoff some of the pieces that they do not get a chance to use as often as they would like. New ceramic tile flooring gave the kitchen the finishing touch. The homeowner loves their new kitchen.

Dark, plain and outdated was how our clients use to describe their kitchen, now they have a kitchen they are proud of and we were happy to be apart of the transformation process. We took out a built in pantry and gave the homeowner a new utility cabinet which gave them the space they needed while also adding to the appeal of the kitchen. We also added cabinets next to the pantry for additional space. The homeowner also received new flooring, appliances, and a ceramic tile back splash. The blue paint gives this kitchen the wow effect it definitely deserved. The homeowner is delighted with their new kitchen.

Outdated, Unfunctional, and Unappealing to the eye are just a few words our Homeowners used to describe their former kitchen. “Wow” was the word they used once their kitchen was completely remodeled by us. A few layout changes made this kitchen not only functional, but also pleasing to look at. By moving the doorway over a few feet we were able to give the Homeowners a run of cabinetry they otherwise would not have been able to have. This also allowed us to move the sink to this run of cabinets, which allowed for a more practical design. Another interesting feature about this kitchen is the half door we installed. The Homeowners need to block this entrance to the kitchen as it lead to their basement stairwell, but also wanted to be able to see into the bedroom that was off the kitchen and this half door allows them to do just that. The Owners opted for vinyl flooring, Formica countertops, and all new white appliances to complete the kitchen. Click on the photographs below for a larger view |
